I am an artist; I always have been – and always will be. My projects focus on the mundane, or otherwise normal aspects of life and turning those themes into Something else – Something visually pleasing – but also, to make the viewers think.
To start something, I usually begin with reading or simply thinking. This is where the Something happens. It’s normally a phrase - but could occasionally be a word, which sparks the Something. It sends me in to a series of connection making and further reading to put together the foundations of the Something.
My favourite part about my work is being able to become it, and have it immerse itself in my life. I am always thinking about what else’s and what if’s, how I can further relate themes to others - always striving to make connections between art and the public eye whilst walking, working, sitting. I feel as if my body of work is aiming to put myself outside my art, and then to figure out how my mind creates these interpretations for the viewers – and then, putting them into the mind of the artist.
